- Jazz Resource List The FBA Jazz Committee has compiled a swing literature resource list for directors. It is posted on the Music Lists page.
- FSMA Sexual Misconduct Policy The Florida School Music Association now has a Sexual Misconduct Policy that all directors participating in an MPA should be aware of. Directors, please note: it is your responsibility to make sure all students are supervised by an adult at all MPA events at all times, including during their Solo & Ensemble performances.
- Mentoring The Florida Bandmasters Association has many mentorship opportunities available to all members. See the Mentoring Page for details.
- Music List Submissions Solo & Ensemble Music Request Deadline: <strong>September 30</strong>. Concert Music Request Deadline: <strong>October 15,</strong>.

Held on the campus of Stetson University in DeLand, this event will include a banquet and two concerts to honor the Roll of Distinction inductees Dr. Patrick Dunnigan and Fred Schiff, and Hall-of-Fame inductees Richard Davenport and Melvin Maxwell. Please RSVP by October 31 if you will be attending the Banquet and/or Concerts.
- Heat Illness Prevention As performers strive for excellence with unwavering dedication, the threat of heat-related illnesses poses a significant concern, particularly amid the demanding schedules of practices and performances, intensified by rising temperatures in summer and autumn. - Concert Music List Additions The new concert list is now available, including new additions approved by the board at the December 2025 board meeting.
- Summer Conference The Summer Conference will be July 7-10, 2026 in Orlando with Keynote Speaker Wycliffe Gordon. Nominations are now open for the 7-Star and 9-Star Honor Bands and the All-Star Community Band.
- State S&E The Entry Instructions for State Solo & Ensemble are now posted. Please be sure to read carefuly if you plan to attend State S&E.
- Young Composers Competition The winner of the 2025 FBA Young Composer Competition is "Uncommon Will" by Carlos Lalonde. Uncommon Will embodies a mentality—an unyielding spirit of determination that persists even in the darkest of circumstances. See below for more information, a perusal score, and a demo recording.
