In addition to the Student Composition Contest, FBA is now also sponsoring a Young Composers Competition open to any composer age 30 or younger.
The January 2021 Florida Bandmaster newsletter is now available, including minutes from the January General Membership Meeting.
All of the solos and ensembles you submitted for Special Permission are now on our FBA S&E List. Please look for your entry codes under the appropriate categories. Also, a special list is now available contains all of the books we use for our All State Auditions. Students may select an etude from the books to be played at S&E for COMMENTS ONLY. If a student wishes to perform from the audition books, please enter the appropriate entry code and the student can tell the adjudicator which etude they prepared.
Directors, please review the attached document and share it with your Honor Band, All-State Band, and Orchestra Wind/Percussion students. You must be registered for this year’s Virtual FMEA Conference and your All-State Students must be registered as well.
All-state results for your students are now available in MPA Online. Login, go to the All-State event, and click Audition Results. Accepted students are highlighted in green. Full rosters are now available as well.
Use the link below to submit new music for the FBA Music List, or to request to perform a piece that is not on the Music List. Deadline is November 1 for Solo & Ensemble and Friday, October 31 for Concert music.
For the 2020-2021 School year, there will not be school classifications, sight-reading will not be a component of Concert MPA, and there will not be a State Concert MPA. See the links below for rationale and more details.
For the health and well-being of our directors and students, all FBA Marching Band MPA’s are hereby canceled for the fall semester of 2020. Bands will not incur ANY negative consequence related to participation in the 2021 Concert Band MPA or Solo and Ensemble MPA due to this cancelation. Please see the link below for details.
